Skule Nite 1T2: The world-famous engineering musical sketch-comedy revue @ Hart House Theatre
Director and head writer: Jonathan Sun
** Part of the 2012 Regular Season, Hart House Theatre, Toronto
Skule Nite is the annual musical-comedy revue produced by the Engineering Society at the University of Toronto. It is directed, written, produced, created and performed by engineering students. The Toronto audience favourite combines sketch-comedy and musical numbers, with technical effects that only a show created by engineers could achieve. The 2012 show, directed by Jonathan Sun, had a sold-out run from March 14-17, 2012.
Among other achievements, the show's technical team created manual- and arduino-controlled electroluminescent (EL-wire) light-suits for the production. It marked the first time that EL-wire had been used in a production in Toronto.
Nearly 100 people help put the show together, including a cast of around 20 people. What results is a production that brings people together in creating a show that has been a Toronto audience favorite since its inception in 1921.
Through a new online-content initiative created by Jonathan Sun, Skule Nite 1T2 created a series of viral videos.
